EDITOR’S NOTE: When trying to rank on Google, it’s important that you show up on the first page. Because the number of people who go to the second page is not very many. But the good news is that with just a few tweaks, you’ll be able to climb the rankings in no time! You can either optimize the existing page that ranks for the term you want to rank for, or create a new one that’s more suited to that keyword. If the keyword you want to rank for is closely related to that topic of that page that ranks for it, then you’ll be able to edit that page in a way that makes it more relevant to that keyword. Do some research and check out the competition to see if you are answering your readers pain points. Maybe you need to make changes to the content, add more backlinks, or adjust your titles/descriptions for a higher click through rate. If the keyword you’re ranking for isn’t really related to the topic of the page that ranks for it, then you need to create another page that revolves around that keyword and add an internal link to point to the new content.
